As an Automotive Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing test plans for new and existing automotive designs, with a strong focus on EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) considerations. Your expertise in hardware engineering, along with your knowledge of automotive ECUs (Electronic Control Units), will be vital in ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive test plans for automotive designs, including tolerance validation, form/fit/function evaluation, shock and vibration testing, electromagnetic interference analysis, safety assessments, reliability testing, fan curve development, and system power measurements.
- Serve as the primary technical interface to product teams and actively participate in technical discussions with customers regarding ECU hardware development and technical specifications.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with management, internal teams, and external development partners to provide regular design status updates, monitor project progress, and resolve any technical issues that arise.
- Plan and deliver technical documentation, oversee sample development, and ensure accurate and timely release of the Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Coordinate with various project stakeholders, both locally and internationally, to ensure seamless project execution and successful delivery of automotive hardware solutions.
- Lead a project team consisting of mechanical hardware engineers and internal/outsourced development partners, fostering a collaborative environment to develop reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions for moderately complex automotive products.
- Represent the mechanical/hardware team throughout all phases of larger and more complex development projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret electronic schematic diagrams and components, facilitating accurate analysis and troubleshooting of hardware-related issues.
- Possess an awareness of Development Verification and Production Validation testing processes, preferably with experience in Automotive ECUs.
