- A minimum 5-10 years working in industry at OEM or Tier 1 suppliers. Ideally in LED LIGHTING?
- Broad experience with finished electromechanical assembly product delivery and innovation?
- Good knowledge of working with multiple component range for plastic injection moulded and electronic components?
- Evidence with clear understanding of Automotive delivery and all industry standards associated to this?
- Success in low to medium volume tooling including emerging technology applications?

Key Responsibilities:
• Report to the Engineering Manager on all aspects of lead design activities.
• Liaison with customers to manage design deliverable to a timely manner.
• Manage the day to day activates for the design sub team.
• Delivery of all aspects of the design engineering process, internally and to the customer.
• Ownership of customer specification deliverables.
• Ensure that the operations and performance of the workforce are progressive.
• Technical leadership of assigned Vehicle Engineering projects.
• Define technical resource requirements for successful project execution.
• Maximise team performance using standard processes.
• Lead technical reviews.
• Assess cost/benefit trade-off of technical solution and lead decision making process.
• Identify areas for technological advancement and maintaining excellent engineering standards.
• Work closely with tight deadlines to ensure that engineering standards are maintained.
• Support the generation of technical papers.
• Escalate and manage programme risks and issues.
• Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions.
• Produce written reports and make presentations.
• Undertake continuous training and development.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
• Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation.
• Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.
• Provide technical expertise to the team.
• Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
• Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems.
Experience Required:
• Leading of engineering teams in the development of new and modified features requested by project teams and end user customers.
• Project management capability demonstrated by recent delivery on time & to budget.
• History of delivery within the automotive product development sector, successfully.
• Engineering Design/ Development background within automotive product design or similar components, ideally having worked within both OEM and Tier suppliers.
• Software Skills – PC Literate, MS Office Proficiency, MS Project knowledge.
• Significant experience in use of engineering tools such as FMEA.
